Ubisoft is doing some screwed up new methods of anti-piracy and they are being attacked for it. I’ve never been a fan of their games like the Tom Clancy Series, Silent Hill games, and Prince of Persia, so this doesn’t effect me at all. Even more this is for people still somehow playing games on their computers rather than a console.
The bottom line is you have to be connected to the internet for the entire use of the software. If at anytime you are disconnected you loose the option to save and are sometimes escorted out of the game. So pirates took to their Login servers with a DOS attack leaving 5% of people playing Assassin’s Creed 2 & Silent Hill 5 on their home PC’s.
It’s fucked up on Ubisoft’s part to get so radical with their DRM, when you impose crap like this it only makes people that are going to buy the game anyways… not want to buy it anymore. The fucking pirates don’t loose sweat over not playing your games, it’s the people that pay up and have a bad gaming experience because you wanted to seem more secure.
